The Story Behind the Blankets
Over the past year, Griffin has been admitted to the 8th floor level 4 Epilepsy Center at Children’s Minnesota Hospital - Minneapolis, many times for monitoring his seizures. These hospital stays were often challenging filled with pokes, procedures, wires, monitors, and long hours of waiting. Yet, amidst the difficulty, there was a small but meaningful source of comfort: warm blankets.
Whenever Griffin complained about being cold, the incredible nurses on the unit would bring him a freshly warmed blanket. It wasn’t just about physical warmth—it was about feeling cared for and secure in an uncertain moment. That simple act of kindness made a huge difference for Griffin, and it stuck with us.
