Wherever You Go

When Griffin was first diagnosed with epilepsy, I had so much hope. It was terrifying and every seizure felt like the worst day of our lives. However, I believed we’d find a medication that worked, that things would settle down, and life would return to normal.
As the days turned into weeks and months, holding on to that hope became harder. Nothing seemed to work, and the challenges kept piling up. Every night, our kids would recite the verse from Joshua 1:9: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” They said it with so much faith, but deep down, I was struggling. I started to question God’s plan. I was angry, frustrated, and wondering how much more we could take.
I kept telling myself, “This has to be rock bottom, it can't get worse than this.” But it did. More seizures, more medications, a rare diagnosis, and a whole lot of uncertainty. On top of that, I lost my job, which added to the stress and fear. It felt like every time we stood back up, life found a way to knock us down again.
While we haven’t reached the other side of this yet. Griffin isn’t healed, and our prayers haven’t been answered, at least not yet! I’ve realized that God never promised life would be easy. Jesus himself said, “In the world, you will have trouble.” Those words feel truer now than ever. Still, I believe God is using this season of our lives to create something greater. He’s building a strength and perseverance in us that we couldn’t have developed any other way.
While that truth may be hard to hear or even confusing, it’s something I try to hold on to, even when it’s hard for me to fully understand. I want to try and live that belief out daily, not just for myself but for my family and for others who might be walking their own difficult path.
The “Wherever You Go” collection comes from this part of our story. It’s a reminder that even in the hardest moments, God is with us. He’s there through every struggle, every tear, and every tiny step forward. With Strong Brave Hopeful, we want to share that message with others. We want to support families facing their own challenges and remind them they’re never alone.
My hope is that when you wear something from this collection, you’ll feel encouraged. No matter where you are or what you’re going through, know that God is with you, wherever you go.
